Who was Sami Sharaf?

A few months before Nasser’s death, Sami was appointed Minister of Presidential Affairs. In 1971, Anwar Sadat, Nasser’s successor, arrested Sami. He was not the only one arrested as dozens of other Nasser loyalists were also arrested. It should be added that Anwar accused Nasser’s loyalists of plotting to overthrow his government.

It is reported that Sami Sharaf was sentenced to life in prison but was pardoned in 1981. Currently his family and supporters are coming forward and mourning his unfortunate death.
